Normal People: accept their limitation, which prevent them from getting what they could have
Smart People: Give in to the temptation; accept slavery for small favors, like wine, women and luxury
Challenger People: Question the existence, are visionary and often lead an exodus some way or the other.
By the above classification I mean to outline the prominent category which is trans humanistic and choice would be the 3rd one. By now you must be wondering what is Trans humanism and why am I talking about this when the world is undergoing lot of other transformation.
We recently started a tech blog and call that Trans humanistic approach to life. Soon our blog gained popularity and people started asking about Trans humanism. To be very frank even I had no perfect answer so did a bit of homework and here is my understanding of Trans humanism.
There is no reason why the qualities of Einstein, Shakespeare, Mozart, Darwin, and Gandhi cannot be combined and the result yet would be an ordinary under the paragon of Trans humanistic way of life.
Coming back to the definition
Trans humanism is the philosophy that we can and should develop to higher levels, both physically, mentally and socially using rational methods.
Other Philospher take on the subject :
Max More defined transhumanism as:
Philosophies of life (such as extropian perspectives) that seek the continuation and acceleration of the evolution of intelligent life beyond its currently human form and human limitations by means of science and technology, guided by life- promoting principles and values.
Mitch Porter:
Transhumanism is the doctrine that we can and should become more than human.
Natasha Vita More:
TH is a commitment to overcoming human limits in all their forms including extending lifespan, augmenting intelligence, perpetually increasing knowledge, achieving complete control over our personalities and identities and gaining the ability to leave the planet. Transhumanists seek to achieve these goals through reason, science and technology.
Robin Hanson:
Transhumanism is the idea that new technologies are likely to change the world so much in the next century or two that our descendants will in many ways no longer be "human."
Cyborg, and artificial organs all are part of the trans humanistic evolution.
Its essence is in my opinion, that we humans can, and should continue to develop ourselves in all possible direction ironically these development has a dark side. Same nuclear science is a source of abundant energy but can be used for the destruction and unfortunately that also comes under trans humanism.
The evolution of bodies and minds has been wonderful, but still far from perfect. They can be improved in many ways, and this can be done in a rational manner using science and technology. In the same way many other parts of the "Human Condition" may be changed through new methods and visions. In the long run, we will no longer be human anymore, but post human beings. The Olympic record will be broken each time in the future, and that is trans humanistic evolution.
Agreed that not all people would like to achieve so much and would like to improve themselves somewhat, but still remain essentially as before. Others might reject any improvements outright for various reasons. From a trans humanistic standpoint, this is no problem. If they don't want to go in our direction, they are welcome to remain humans. What we cannot accept is other people putting restrictions on our quest towards trans humanity; in that case we have to prevent them from interfering, probably by simply avoiding them. In no way do we want to force anybody to anything.
Cheers to Trans humanism and let’s not forget this is the only evolution which is driving the economic development and creating space for all 3 type of people to live in peace and synergy.
